This blog came about after a family discussion on sustainability and farm to table practices. It became apparent that there is more to it than getting big companies to change or whole societies to behave differently. Perhaps it is more effective to start taking a “think globally, act locally” approach focusing on what’s immediately in front of us and discover, document and proliferate the incredible breadth and depth of knowledge already in practice.
Over the next few years, we will be exploring various regions, talking with folks who, through their own efforts, have discovered ways to live sustainably or contribute to the effort. Meeting with small farmers, community markets, restaurants, “off grid’ers”, schools and even the occasional politician to listen and learn and pass it on to you readers.
Return here shortly for the first encounter.
